Publication of the package for the Special Zones for Financial and Asset Management Businesses

Today, Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City have been selected as one of the areas for the Special Zones for Financial and Asset Management Businesses promoted by the Japanese government.

We will work towards the early realization of deregulations and other measures.

Regarding the opening of “START”, a trading market for Security Token (ST)

The Osaka Digital Exchange (ODX) Corporation, a company expanding its presence in Osaka, has officially opened the first Security Token (ST) trading market in Japan, named “START,” on December 25th.Honored to have Governor Yoshimura join us at the inauguration ceremony, sharing words of celebration.

Osaka Prefecture and City hosted a Business Matching Event “Global Finance & Innovation Forum in Osaka 2023” and invite Fintech and Asset Management Companies

Osaka Prefecture and City hosted a business matching event “Global Finance & Innovation Forum in Osaka 2023” on Thursday, 30th November! It is part of Osaka Prefecture’s efforts to establish a global financial city by accelerating the attraction of foreign financial companies to Osaka/Kansai.

Over 200 participants got together onsite or online at the event. The companies include life science start-ups, FinTech companies, investors and asset management companies (VC, CVC, etc.), and some potential clients such as financial institutions, IT companies, and business company etc. We successfully invited over 10 delegates including Fintech and Asset Management Companies and matched over 20 business matching. We have created new business opportunities throughout online and onsite exchanges.

At the point of this event, we are willing to support expansion your business in Osaka continuously!

Global Financial City OSAKA establishes “ambassador” for SNS account

Together with Kansai-based companies and industrial organizations, Osaka Prefecture and City have been working to attract financial-related companies. In so doing, we aim to become a global financial hub.

We are happy to announce that we have assigned “ambassador” for “Global Financial City OSAKA” SNS account. They are sharing information and promote our activities by utilizing their connections and influence, such as by spreading the word about our “Global Financial City OSAKA” account.

    Information on the Local Tax Reduction System for Overseas Financial Corporations

    In November, new system allows overseas financial corporations expanding into Osaka City to pay no corporate inhabitant tax and no corporate enterprise tax.

    It is applied for up to 10 years, and “Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City are the only local governments” to offer local government-specific reductions limited to overseas financial corporations engaged in asset management and FinTech businesses for the first time in Japan.

    Business Collaboration Agreement Signed with Kansai University

    We are pleased to announce the conclusion of a business collaboration agreement with Kansai University for a joint project between Osaka Prefecture/City and the university, aiming to build further collaboration and cooperation for realizing Global Financial City OSAKA. Under this agreement, we will promote the development of global financial human resources, financial literacy education, and other initiatives.
